about time 早該如此

about time 「早該要……了」、「總算……了」                              有時含有輕微抱怨的意思

有別於（it is time to do sth），about time 不只表示「做什麼事的時候了」，還進一步有抱怨的意味


The basketball team won last night. About time.
他們昨晚赢球了；早就該贏了！
也可以這樣用：It's about time they won.（注意要用過去式）




A : Your folks just called.  It's taken so long but they finally sold their house. 
B : Well, it's about time. Did they get a good price? 

      總算賣出去了……


「你總算來了」（當友人趕到時：It's about time!）

 有的时候  It's about time.   也有催促人快點做某件事的意思 

若朋友忙了半天,   根本沒時間吃飯，這時可以說
 It's  about time that you eat.  意思就是 「你也該吃饭了！」
